The Dream Room Project

A Charitable Art Movement

“Every child needs a place where, the moon still flows, the stars still twinkle, the magic is still magic, even in the darkest of times.”

Welcome to The Dream Room Project

A charitable organization unlike any other of its kind in Canada

The concept is simple, and effective. The Dream Room Project (La Sala De Los Sueños Inc) is a Winnipeg-based, not-for-profit charitable organization helping children and youth heal from traumatic experiences through art by transforming spaces into hope-filled spaces

Why Do We Do It?

Children have surpisingly sophisticated ways of understanding the world pretence and possibility, fiction and fantasy. Children who experience trauma rarely share their stories by using words. Instead their inner life is pushed deeper, into the world of imagination.

The Dream Room Project allows children to have some sort of control during times when everything around them is not in their control. They design their dream spaces putting into perspective situations difficult to explain in words.

About The Dream Room Project

Luna founded The Dream Room Project in 2007 (La Sala De Los Sueños Inc). While her art career was just beginning to take off, she wanted to make a meaningful impact to lessen the burden of children in her hometown.

The Dream Room Project has completed over 200 individual dream rooms in homes, in group homes, treatment centres, shelters, community based healing centres and in other public housing spaces, even including the Manitoba Youth Centre.

It’s a little time and effort that makes a big difference in the lives of local children. It’s a great feeling to know you’re a part of something so transformational, because…

Every child needs a place where, the moon still glows, the stars still twinkle, the magic is still magic, even in the darkest of times
